NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police are investigating after a car veered into the wrong lane and struck a Charleston County school bus head-on Tuesday morning on Dorchester Road.
North Charleston Police say the incident happened around 9 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Dorchester Road, near the Jericho On The Ashley River neighborhood.
Police say the driver of a Ford Taurus was heading westbound when he lost control of his vehicle, crossed the median, and collided into the bus.
The driver of the bus was taken to MUSC with non-life threatening injuries, according to police. None of the children on the bus were injured.
No word yet on the status of the driver of the Ford Taurus. Police say the investigation is ongoing and charges may be pending.
