COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Forecasters are giving stern warnings that tornadoes are possible across eastern South Carolina and North Carolina on Saturday.
The National Weather Service says there is a 45% chance of severe weather in an area from Charleston to Florence to Raleigh, N.C., and east to the coast.
Forecasters say the storms could be unusually dangerous ones called supercells that can bring strong tornadoes.
Much of the rest of the Carolinas could also see severe weather.
The storms will be part of a larger system which has brought tornadoes to Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi and Alabama the past two days.
