COLUMBIA, SC (AP) - Forecasters are warning that a line of thunderstorms is expected to cause severe weather including flooding, high winds and possible tornadoes as it moves across the eastern portion of the Carolinas.
The National Weather Service issued flood warnings Saturday for western North Carolina and high wind and rip tide warnings for the South Carolina coast.
Forecaster Justin Lane says the worst weather is expected to develop later in the afternoon east of Raleigh and Columbia.
The storms are part of a larger system that has brought deadly tornadoes to Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi and Alabama the past two days.
