ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell along with Neeses Mayor Corbett and Livingston Mayor Gordon officially opened substations in Neeses and Livingston Monday morning.
The sheriff said he wanted to increase response times and visibility in the two towns with local bases of operations for his deputies.
"This is an additional effort to increase visibility in the county, improve response times and develop relationships with citizens in areas that have not had the full support of the sheriff's office," said Ravenell.
The investigators working out of the new substations will be to develop relationships with the citizens in these communities and be available when needed.
"More substations will be established in other areas of the county as we analyze where officers can best serve the county," said Ravenell. "I am always looking at proactive ways to serve the citizens of this county with the resources we have on hand."
