LADSON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County sheriff's deputies are investigating an armed robbery that happened early Friday morning.
Investigators say the robbery happened just before 4 a.m. at the Sunoco on Highway 78 in Ladson. Deputies say a man came into the store with a gun, demanded money from the clerk and then took off.
The female clerk told police that she was coming out of the back store room when a white male pointed a gun at her and told her to give him all the cash. She proceeded to the register, opened the drawer and put the money in a white plastic bag that the suspect placed on the counter.
The suspect then walked out the door and turned right toward the direction of the KOA campgrounds on foot. Another victim who was in the store said he was making a cup of coffee when he turned around and saw the suspect pointing a gun at the clerk.
The suspect is described as a white male in his early to mid 20's. He was dressed in a white shirt, blue jeans and green baseball cap turned backwards with and an off-white bandana.
