Grandma becomes a wild turkey hunter

Looking for something new to do in your seventies? How about turkey hunting?

Charlotte Howser of Merritt Island, Florida took it up in November and now she's done something most men only dream about. The 70-plus-year-old grandmother completed the turkey hunting season in Claxton with what's called a "grand slam".

Four turkeys are allowed to be killed. To earn a "grand slam", a turkey hunter has to kill one turkey in each subspecies: the Eastern Wild Turkey, the Florida Wild Turkey, the Merriam's Wild Turkey and the Rio Grande Wild Turkey. Howser got all four.

Levi Smith of Harry's Barbecue in Claxton served as her guide.
