3 Summerville men were taken into custody on Thursday afternoon after leading an armed robbery victim on a high-speed chase through Colleton County.
A Colleton County Sheriff's deputy found two vehicles, one parked in the middle of Cottageville Highway, and another in a ditch by the road, near Edisto River around 2:15 p.m.
Deputies say one of the vehicles belonged to an armed robbery victim who chased his assailants after being held up in the Foxfield subdivision near Walterboro.
The 41-year-old victim told deputies that he didn't call 911 because they stole his cell phone during the robbery. He said they also took his cash.
Deputies also found one of the robbery suspects on the scene, and soon another area resident drove up to inform law enforcement that he had just taken two armed men to a location they requested.
Deputies then responded to that location and arrested the 2 suspects.
Carlos Roderick Jefferson, 22, and Rakeem Kashawn Floyd, 21, both of Summerville, are charged with armed robbery and kidnapping.
Jefferson is also charged with possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and Floyd was charged for giving false information to police after lying about his name.
They are being held in the Colleton County Detention Center.
The third suspect, originally apprehended on Cottageville Highway, has not been charged with a crime.
