Easter dance receives 320,000 YouTube views

HOUSTON (KTRK/CNN) – A Houston church's Easter dance video is getting thousands of hits on YouTube.

The video, Dance your shoes off,  is an Easter celebration of Second Baptist church in Houston, TX, whose purpose was to see how quickly it could go viral. The idea was to teach church members to dance, but they had to find the right song.

"We have to teach choreography to thousands of people and we need it now," said songwriter, Josh Moore.

Moore teamed with singer Lauren James, a church member, wrote the song and recorded it in two days.

"We were thinking 'rise' just thinking of different words and that word kept coming up," James said. "It's the message of Christianity all in one song, about how he is risen and how we can all rise to celebrate who he is."

Dance your shoes off has been seen on TV with more than 2,000 people dancing on Discovery Green, and has had more than 320,000 views on YouTube in a week.
