Richmond, Va. The Charleston Battery (2-1-0) conceded two second half goals as the Richmond Kickers (4-0-0) came from behind to defeat the Battery 2-1 Saturday evening in front of 1,833 at City Stadium. Forward Levi Coleman put Charleston ahead in the 15th minute but the lead was erased with goals from substitute forwards David Bulow and Shaka Bangura as the Kickers continued their unbeaten start to the season.
Levi Coleman almost put the Battery ahead in the 5th minute but saw his header bounce back off the post. Ten minutes later he made no mistake thumping a header past Richmond goalkeeper Ronnie Pascale after Cole Peverley had flicked it back across the face of goal.
Richmond level led in the 61st minute from a corner-kick as David Bulow found himself unmarked just outside the six yard box. Bulow powered a header past Charleston goalkeeper Keith Wiggans to make it 1-1.
The game-winner came in injury time as Richmond counter-attacked down the right side. The ball was played through to Shaka Bangura who drilled a shot off the far post and into the goal from 15 yards out.
