CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A third candidate has entered the race for mayor of Charleston where Joe Riley is seeking an unprecedented 10th term.
Reports indicate that William Gregorie is making another run for mayor. Riley easily defeated Gregorie four years ago.
Gregorie said in a YouTube video Monday that 35 years is too long for one mayor. Riley captured 64% of the vote four years ago to 29% for Gregorie.
Gregorie says he will make a formal announcement later.
Riley opened his campaign Monday with a series of listening sessions with constituents around the city.
Author, historian and journalist David Farrow is also running for mayor.
