SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) -

Summerville police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead. Another man says his brother is the deceased and that he was shot by a neighbor.

Police say the shooting happened around 8:45 p.m. Thursday in the 300 block of Hemingway Circle inside a townhome. The Dorchester County Coroner's Office says that 32-year-old Jason Thomas Arriolo was pronounced dead at Summerville Medical Center at 9:17 Thursday night.

According to the Arriolo's brother, Arriolo and his neighbor were hanging out earlier Thursday night when something happened and the neighbor shot and killed Arriolo.

"Basically there was some drinking involved in it and from what I understand it erupted into an argument," said Gabriel Arriolo.

The homeowner took Summerville police officers to the back of the home where they found Arriolo shot in his stomach.

Police haven't charged anyone. First Circuit Solicitor David Pascoe said his office will be consulted by the police department before a final decision is made on whether charges will be filed.
