Preston Oliver, 88, is not your typical veteran. He served in World War II, the Korean War, and in Vietnam.
Along with 99 others, Oliver took the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. to tour the World War II memorial on April 20.
He describes his experience as one of a kind, "It was just wonderful, just unbelievably wonderful."
The flight back to Wilmington included a "mail call" in which veterans receive letters written specifically to them from their family members, school children, and members of the community.
Oliver's says his favorite letters came from the school kids, "The children express themselves beautifully."
