RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - A passenger was killed in an accident early Sunday morning in Richland County, and the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the 28-year-old driver from Gadsden was charged with a felony DUI.

Troopers said the 2002 Nissan was traveling along Vanboklen Road around 5:00 a.m. when it went off the road and overturned.

The driver, Nathaniel Shiver, and two other passengers were ejected from the vehicle. Troopers said they weren't wearing seat belts.

One of the passengers was pronounced dead at the scene. The Richland County coroner identified him as 40-year-old Dexter M. Huguenin of Gadsden.

Shiver and the other male passenger were taken to Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital with non life-threatening injuries, according to the patrol.

The patrol's MAIT team continues to investigate the crash.
