The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office says they arrested a 62-year-old Summerville man after officers found 144 marijuana plants in his home.

Authorities charged Dana Udovich with trafficking marijuana and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. It all started last Friday when deputies responded to a home on Savannah Round after a 911 hang up call was received.

Deputies say they attempted to make contact with someone at the residence and after a failed attempt they checked the outside of the home and found an unlocked garage door.

According to the sheriff's office, deputies checked the garage and found an unlocked door into the house.

A police report states that as deputies entered the residence to make sure there was not an emergency, they found a quantity of marijuana growing inside a bedroom.

Deputies then left the home and called narcotics investigators and a search warrant was obtained. A total of 144 marijuana plants were seized from the home as well as 4 pounds of processed marijuana ready for distribution.

Udovich returned during the search of the residence and was arrested.
