Downtown Charleston sub shop robbed at gunpoint

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police are investigating after Firehouse Subs on King Street was robbed at gun point just before 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Investigators say a man armed with a handgun entered the restaurant located at 357 King Street at 8:23 a.m.

The suspect is described as a black male, 23 to 26 years old, 6'1", weighing about 180 pounds and having a mustache/goatee. Police say he was wearing gray baggy sweat pants, a white hoodie with poke-a-dot stripes and older black and red Nike tennis shoes. He was carrying a green book bag.

No one was injured during the armed robbery.
