CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police are upgrading the charges against a 26-year-old man in custody for allegedly shooting and killing another man on South Street last week.
Marvin Brown will now be charged with murder in connection with the incident. Brown was originally arrested Wednesday and charged with attempted murder, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime in connection with the April 26 shooting.
Brown will have a bond hearing around 11 a.m. Friday.
Officers found the 19-year-old victim laying in a pool of blood on South Street and he was taken to MUSC. The victim died earlier Wednesday.
Brown was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Park Circle area of North Charleston. Brown will be in court Thursday for a bond hearing
Detectives are looking to upgrade the attempted murder charge to murder. The investigation is ongoing.
