2 Orangeburg men nabbed for burglaries

GLYNN CO., GA (WTOC) - Two men from Orangeburg were arrested Friday morning in connection with a string of motel burglaries.

Chet LeLand Lokey, 47, and Joe Allen Gartman, 25, were arrested during a traffic stop at about 7:44 a.m. Friday in the 5000 block of New Jesup Highway.

Investigator Marc Neu spotted a 2002 Chevrolet van, which investigators knew had been involved in motel burglaries in the area, according to Glynn County police.

Lokey was charged with burglary and financial transaction card fraud in connection with a March 2 burglary and was charged with charged with burglary and two counts of financial transaction card fraud in connection with an April 22 burglary.

He was also charged with possession of methamphetamine, which he had on his person at the time of his arrest, according to police.

More charges are expected.
