Coroner: Man found shot to death at hunting club was an accident

DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Dorchester County Coroner's Office says that a man that was found shot to death outside a shooting hut was an accidental death.

Authorities say William Rust died from single gunshot wound to the left chest hitting his heart. The coroner's office says there was no evidence found of a homicide or a suicide.

According to authorities, the trajectory of the bullet and evidence on the scene shows that Rust likely tripped while carrying the loaded weapon.

Rust was found last Thursday morning outside a shooting hut at the Palmetto Gun Club on Summer Drive in Dorchester County.
