NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police arrested a 29-year-old transgender male for inappropriately touching a boy in North Charleston on Saturday afternoon.
The North Charleston Police Department charged Roger Jaldin, of Graham Street in North Charleston, with lewd act on a minor.
Officers responded to a home on Graham Street where a boy told his mother that he had been fondled by a woman. The mother said that she confronted the suspect. According to the police report, when officers arrived at the suspect's house, they found that "the suspect was actually a transgender Hispanic male."
The boy told police that he and his friend came to the suspect's house and asked to rake the suspect's yard for money. The suspect told them he didn't have any leaves to rake, but they could pick up some aluminum cans in the rear of the home.
The victim then went to the back of the home and his friend left to play football. The boy told police that after he picked up the cans, the suspect asked him if he knew how to work a TV.
The boy then walked into the home and looked at the TV. A police report states as the boy stood there, the suspect inappropriately touched the boy and asked him if he liked it. The boy then ran out the door.
The suspect was arrested and locked up at the Charleston County Detention Center.
