Suspect sought after shooting in downtown Charleston

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston Police are looking for a gunman following a late night shooting in downtown Charleston.

According to police, the shooting happened around 10:45 p.m. Sunday near Columbus and Hanover Streets. Investigators say one person was shot in the leg just above the ankle.

The victim ran to the Church's Chicken at Line and Meeting Streets looking for help and fell. A witness says they saw a teenager running away from the shooting scene.

Police say they are looking for a balding black male standing about 5'8" and weighing between 200 and 210 pounds.  He was seen wearing black pants and a white t-shirt.

There is no word on the victim's condition.
