NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police officers arrested a 31-year-old man accused of firing a gun after a dispute with a 6-year-old boy in North Charleston.
The North Charleston Police Department charged Jermaine Samuel Scott with discharging a firearm within city limits and disturbing the peace.
Officers responded to a home on Casway Lane in reference to a man who fired a gun in the area.
Witnesses say Scott got into an argument with a 6-year-old boy who threw an egg and missed the suspect. After an argument with the boy's mother, Scott was told to leave by the boy's grandmother. A police report states that Scott then took out a pistol and fired a shot into the air.
When other officers arrived at the scene, they saw Scott yelling and using profane language at another officer.
Scott was locked up at the Charleston County Detention Center.
