Bluffton apartment fire displaces eight

BLUFFTON (WCSC) - Seven adults and one child were displaced by an apartment fire early this morning.

The Bluffton fire department responded to the fire this morning around 6 a.m. at 126 Malphrus Road and called the Red Cross for assistance.

The fire started outside the apartment and activated the sprinkler system on site. The fire caused minimal damage according to Bluffton Fire Department Captain Randy Hunter.

Red Cross workers provided the victims with shelter and assisted them in replacing food lost in the fire.

There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
