Victim identified in deadly McClellanville motorcycle crash

MCCLELLANVILLE, SC (WCSC) - A motorcycle accident left one person dead Sunday in McClellanville.

The Charleston County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 49-year-old James Lewis of Hanahan. Lewis died at the scene due to head trauma, and he was not wearing his helmet, according to the coroner's office.

The accident occurred on Highway 17 North. According to deputies, the victim lost control of the motorcycle, left the roadway and crashed into some trees.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate.
