SCHP: Driver failed to yield right of way to motorcyclist

MURRELLS INLET, SC (WMBF) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate a motorcycle accident that claimed the life of a 22-year-old Man Sunday morning.
Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins, spokesman for the South Carolina Highway Patrol, said the accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 17 Bypass and Wachesaw Road around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
A Ford Expedition was traveling north on the Bypass and attempted to make a left turn onto Wachesaw Road, failing to yield the right of way to a motorcyclist traveling south.
The motorcyclist was killed as a result of the accident. The Georgetown County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as Jacob Miller of Jamestown, SC. He died at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center of injuries sustained in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation by SCHP. At this time, charges have not been brought against the driver, however, that could change as SCHP completes the investigation.
