CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

South Carolina Probation and Parole agents are looking for Jim Saxby.

Saxby, 83, is wanted for a parole violation following convictions for common law attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder and assault and battery with intent to kill.

"What's unique about Mr. Saxby is that Mr. Saxby was born in 1928," said Probation and Parole Agent in Charge Mitchell Ray. "Age does not detract from someone's level of danger. I can't say because of his advanced age that he couldn't harm someone."

Saxby has ben on parole since 2002. Agents say he had been reporting to his parole office  on a regular basis but suddenly stopped.

"He's familiar with just about every agent in our office," said Ray. "Just recently he just lost touch with us. We can't seem to be able to locate him at any of his residences."

Because of Saxby's age, parole agents went to the coroner's office and the department of vital records, just to make sure he's still alive, and they couldn't find any records that showed he was dead.

"So we're assuming that he is still out there, still alive and very active," Ray said.

Saxby is still considered to be dangerous. He stands 5'9" and weighs about 212 lbs.

If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111. You don't have to give your name and may earn a cash reward.
