WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) -

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County Sheriff's Office has released a new sketch of the suspect in a rape that took place May 23.

Deputies are still looking for a man who allegedly carjacked and sexually assaulted a woman in West Ashley earlier this week.

According to Major John Clark, the incident happened around 3 p.m. in the parking lot of West Ashley Primary Care, located on Ashley Crossing Drive.

The victim told authorities that a black male forced his way into her car and made her drive to an abandoned house on Sunnyvale Avenue, where he forced her to remove her clothing before sexually assaulting her.  After the rape, investigators say the man threw the woman's clothes over a fence and left her naked behind the home.

Authorities said the woman's vehicle, a black 2011 Ford Escape SUV, was found parked near the old Walmart on Ashley Crossing Drive, just a stone's throw from the Live 5 News Station.

Authorities say the assailant is 20 to 29 years old, 5'7"-5'8'' with a medium build.  Authorities say the man is balding with a scruffy beard and has large gaps between his front teeth.  He was last seen wearing a red t-shirt and black pants, on foot near West Ashley Primary Care.
