The Coast Guard says they have rescued all two people from a boat that capsized near Morris Island Wednesday night.
The Coast Guard rescued 23-year-old Zachary Nelson from Hollywood and 22-year-old Kayla Henry from Tennessee around 10 p.m. near Folly Beach.
Collin Merrill, 25, from Hollywood, had to swim nearly a mile to shore to get help. The boaters received medical help, but were not seriously injured.
Authorities received a report around 8:26 p.m. of three overdue boaters on a 16-foot Hobie Cat sailing boat.
According to the Coast Guard, Merrill, the operator of the boat, swam to shore where he told authorities that the vessel had its mast stuck to the ocean floor. He also said that two people were clinging to the vessel in the water.
The Coast Guard sent two response boat crews to the boat which was a mile east of Morris Island. Around 10:03 p.m., the boaters were rescued.
They were taken to the Coast Guard Station where an emergency medical response team met them.
