Man robs Summerville Taco Bell with shotgun

SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - A man police say robbed a Summerville Taco Bell with a shotgun is on the run Wednesday.

Employees at the Taco Bell located at 981 Bacons Bridge Rd. told Summerville police that a man armed with a "vintage" shotgun with a wooden handle came into the store around 1:15 a.m. and demanded cash.

The store manager told investigators that the suspect approached him outside the store while he was taking out the trash. The suspect told the manager to puts his hands up, be quiet and to go back in the store as he approached him with a single barrel shotgun, a police report states.

Once inside the store, employees say the suspect didn't talk much, but he did say "don't move," "hurry up," "be quiet" and "please be quicker," during the course of the robbery.

The manager went into his office with the suspect to open the safe. He placed the money from the safe in a white Taco Bell bag and the suspect grabbed the bag and left.

The store's employees described the suspect to police as a black male approximately 5'7" to 5'8" with brown eyes. He was wearing black shoes, a dark blue skullie and a face mask. One witness said he had a "deep Charleston voice."
