JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - An early Thursday morning house fire on James Island has been ruled arson by the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.
The fire, which destroyed a home on James Prioleau Road near Folly Road, is under investigation. Deputies say there were several altercations between the owner of the home and his brother-in-law, who is also his neighbor.
The fire started around 1 a.m. and when firefighters arrived on the scene, flames were shooting from the roof and side of the home. It took them about 30 minutes to put out the blaze.
No one was home at the time of the fire.
