JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County sheriff's deputies have arrested a man wanted for allegedly burning down his own house early Thursday.
According to the incident report, the fire was started after an ongoing family dispute. Byron Minter of 1732 James Prioleau Road is charged with arson in connection with Friday's fire that destroyed his home around 2 a.m. Minter received a $50,252 bond.
An incident report describes an ongoing feud between Minter and his brother-in-law, who is also his neighbor.
Deputies say there were several altercations between the owner of the home and his brother-in-law, who is also his neighbor.
The fire started around 2 a.m. and when firefighters arrived on the scene, flames were shooting from the roof and side of the home. It took them about 30 minutes to put out the blaze.
No one was home at the time of the fire.
