NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Traffic is now moving freely on Interstate 26 after two tractor trailers collided Friday morning, spilling hundreds of beer cans into the road.
The accident caused substantial traffic delays earlier today but has been cleaned up by the South Carolina Department of Transportation.
One of the trailers, which was carrying beer, struck the concrete wall in the median and caused hundreds of cases of beer to spill into the westbound lanes. Traffic is backed up as crews work to the clear the accident and remove beer cans from the road.
The accident happened around 11 a.m. at mile marker 205, the US-78 exit. No injuries were reported.
The collision occurred in the eastbound lanes, but the beer cans have spilled over the wall into the westbound lanes.
