N. Charleston man gets 10 years for cocaine, crack

A North Charleston man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute cocaine and base cocaine.

The incident that led to this event took place on February 4, 2009.

Authorities say Xavier T. Walker failed to stop his vehicle for a Sheriff's Deputy in Dorchester County. Once Walker stopped the car, he unsuccessfully attempted to escape on foot.

The Sheriff's Deputy found almost 15 grams of base cocaine and 12 grams of cocaine in the vehicle. Walker was then identified and arrested.

The case was investigated by agents of the Drug Enforcement Agency and the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office.
