NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police arrested 18 people following a drug and prostitution sting in North Charleston.
Fifteen people were arrested on prostitution charges and another three were jailed on drug charges.
The operation started when four women were arrested on May 25 in a S.P.E.E.D team operation where an undercover male officer posed as a "John" to pick up prostitutes.
The North Charleston Police Department charged 36-year-old Cherry Marie Orellana, 23-year-old Ashley Jones, 25-year-old Ashley Bowmen and 50-year-old Linda Gilford with prostitution.
On Wednesday, police arrested 10 men for solicitation for prostitution. In this operation, authorities used an undercover female officer to pose as a prostitute.
Authorities arrested 50-year-old Barry Williams, 26-year-old Terrence Ford, 57-year-old James Blocker, 36-year-old Keith McLeod-Gordon, 40-year-old Zettis Buskirk Wilson, 28-year-old Thomas Jones Edison, 30-year-old Antonio White, 37-year-old Ralph Bollig, 45-year-old Felipe Lopez and 38-year-old Jorge Cohuo.
Police also charged 47-year-old Scott Muniz with loitering for purpose of prostitution.
On Friday, members of the S.P.E.E.D. team conducted a narcotics bust and charged three people for drugs.
Investigators arrested 27-year-old Glen Ferguson and charged him with distribution of cocaine, distribution of cocaine within close proximity to a school, possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession with intent to distribute cocaine within close proximinty of a school.
Donna Warren, 53, and 44-year-old Curtis Haiger were both charged with possession of cocaine.
