Man robs West Ashley awards store at gunpoint

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police are responding to an armed robbery at the Palmetto Awards on Ashley River Road.

Officers say the robbery happened just before 9:30 a.m. Police believe he may have gotten away on a bike. Investigators dusted the crime scene for finger prints and interviewed witnesses.

Authorities describe the suspect as a black male with a heavy build, between 20 and 29 years old, 5'6" to 5'8" tall, wearing a navy shirt with a white shirt underneath, baseball cap, dark pants and had a camouflage bandana around his face.
