Driver cited for rear-ending police car

MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Authorities say they have cited a man for driving too fast for conditions after he rear-ended a Charleston police car.

According to Charleston police, a pick-up truck ran into the back of the police car at a stoplight on Highway 17 and Bowman Road around 2 a.m. Thursday.

The officer's K-9 was with him at the time. No word on the condition of the dog. The dog was taken to the vet.

The officer and the driver of the pick-up truck were treated on scene. They are both expected to be OK.
