THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) - The Los Angeles Rams have signed quarterback Aaron Murray. The Rams announced the deal Thursday. Murray played collegiately at the University of Georgia, where he spent two seasons handing off to Rams running back Todd Gurley.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -Former NFL and Alabama running back Trent Richardson is denying charges that he hit his former girlfriend, who is the mother of his four children. Richardson told AL DOT com in an interview published Thursday that his February arrest in suburban Birmingham happened after former girlfriend Sevina Fatu punched him and pulled out some of his hair.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Sentencing for the man who fatally shot former New Orleans Saints star Will Smith has been delayed. Cardell Hayes was scheduled for sentencing on Monday. However, state District Judge Camille Buras granted a defense attorneys' request for more time Thursday. No new date was set. A status hearing was scheduled for March 30th. Smith was killed in a traffic confrontation in New Orleans last April. The 29-year-old Hayes claimed self-defense but a jury convicted him of manslaughter, and attempted manslaughter for wounding Smith's wife.

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (AP) -Pete Hamilton, who captured the Daytona 500 in 1970 and won twice at Talladega Superspeedway the next year, has died at 74. His death Wednesday was announced by Richard Petty Motorsports and NASCAR. Hamilton won four Cup races, including a Daytona 500 qualifying race in 1971.
