SAN DIEGO (KGTV/CNN) - A California store turned into a mad house when a shopper offered to pay for everyone's items inside a store.
By the time the goods were rung up, she had spent more than $2,000.
"She was like, 'Get anything you guys want, I'm paying for it,'" said Claudia Smith, a customer. "So, I was like, 'Are you sure, or is this only a joke?' And she said, 'No, I'm paying for it. Got some shirts, some pants, stuff I really needed now."
Claudia Smith said she just wanted to share her good fortune.
"I'm just recycling my money, over and over, and guess what's happening to my credit card? Whoosh," she said.
"She wanted to purchase merchandise for the ladies that were in the store and at the close of business, she rang up $2,200," said Marco Mitrowke, an employee at Everything a Deal. "We've had about 500 people in and out, waiting for her to come back."
When she was asked why she did this, she was a little vague.
"Here I am. Happy, joyous, and free," Smith said.
