HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (AP) - A woman has been rescued after she floated off Hilton Head Island for five hours on a raft.
Skipper Paul Field of Fripp Island Sea Rescue told The Island Packet of Hilton Head that the woman put the raft in the water about 1 p.m. Saturday and was quickly pulled well out to sea by the tide.
Field says a passing boater spotted the raft and towed the woman close enough to shore for rescuers to help.
Field says the woman was a little dehydrated and sunburned, but was able to return to her Harbor Island home after a brief stop at a medical station.
