TALLAHASSEE, FLA. (WCSC) - A 19-year-old woman from Beaufort was involved in a three-car accident in Florida that killed three people including a 5-year-old boy Saturday.
According to reports by WCTV in Tallahassee, Fla., 19-year-old Mary Trumps, of Beaufort, lost control of her Honda Pilot and crossed the median on Interstate 10, crashing into a Nissan Maxima. The crash killed the driver and passenger of the Nissan.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the Nissan then slid into a Chevy Suburban, killing a 5 year old and severely injuring another child and three adults.
The deceased couple was identified as 70-year-old Tommy Fisher and 65-year-old Janet Fisher. They were both wearing their seat belts.
Trumps was also injured in the crash. A relative told WCTV that she is expected to be released from the hospital after suffering a broken ankle.
The Florida Highway Patrol has not said if any charges will be filed in the accident.
