RIDGEVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Authorities are on the lookout for a 29-year-old man accused of shooting his cousin in the leg in Dorchester County.
The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office is looking for Craig Allen Russell of Ridgeville. On Saturday, deputies responded to a parking lot on Highway 61 and Old Beech Hill Road in Ridgeville for a shooting.
When deputies arrived they were approached by a 35-year-old man who said, "They shot my brother." Officers found a 24-year-old man bleeding from his left leg.
The victim's brother said he had just been released from federal prison and found out that Craig had assaulted someone from his family. He told deputies that he only wanted to talk to Craig.
According to a police report, the victim and his brother went to Craig's home on Old Beech Hill Road.
Authorities say Craig jumped out of his car and ran in the house when he saw the brothers pull up. A police report states when the brothers went to the front door of the home, Craig opened the door carrying a small revolver.
The victim then asked Craig, "What you going to do? Shoot us?"
At that point, Craig fired two rounds and the brothers went back to their vehicle and drove off, deputies say.
The sheriff's office describe Craig as an Indian male, dark complexion, 5'10", 200 lbs, brown eyes, black hair, wearing blue jeans and a tank top shirt. Craig was last seen driving an older model white 4-door Lincoln.
If you have any information you are asked to call the sheriff's office.
