CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A North Charleston man has been charged in connection with yet another bank robbery in the Lowcountry.
The Summerville Police Department charged Kelvin Barton, 36, with entering a financial institution with intent to steal in connection with the July 2010 robbery at The National Bank of South Carolina.
This is the fourth robbery that authorities have connected to Barton, who was arrested last week following a bank robbery and chase that started on Johns Island and ended on Dorchester Road in North Charleston.
Before Tuesday, Barton had been accused of robbing The National Bank of South Carolina in West Ashley in April and a State Credit Union in West Ashley in September 2010.
Barton was present at a bond hearing Tuesday. He received a $150,000 surety bond and was taken back to the Charleston County Jail.
