Ex-boyfriend charged with woman's slaying

BEAUFORT CO., SC (WTOC) - The ex-boyfriend of a Hampton County woman is being held on murder charges.

Kelvin Jackson, 32, of Fairfax, has been charged with the murder of 34-year-old Masako Yamugichi Miller.

Jackson is the father of two of Miller's three children. He was arrested June 10 because he had some of Miller's belongings, according to authorities.

Miller disappeared late in the night on May 25 from her home in Hampton County. Her body was found Memorial Day floating in the Broad River near Archer's Creek in Beaufort County.

Jackson is being held at the Beaufort County Detention Center.  

The arrest is the result of a joint investigation by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office, the Hampton County Sheriff's Office and the Hampton Police Department.
