A 74-year-old woman was killed after a car accident in Berkeley County on Thursday morning.
According to the Berkeley County Coroner's Office, 74-year-old Ellen Bland, of Pineville, was traveling south on Highway 35 around 5 a.m. in her sedan near Fire House Road. She then ran off the right side of the roadway into a ditch and overturned.
Bland was pronounced dead on the scene by the coroner. The cause of dead was ruled to be head trauma. Bland was wearing a seatbelt.
The accident is under investigation by the Berkeley County Coroner's Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol.
