Bond denied for attempted murder suspect in hotel shooting

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The man accused of shooting another man Monday outside a North Charleston hotel was denied bond Friday.

North Charleston police arrested 25-year-old Jason Rashard Lane on Thursday morning at a Johns Island home. He is charged with attempted murder.

Investigators say Lane shot and robbed a man outside the Comfort Suites on Ashley Phosphate Road near Rivers Avenue on Monday morning. When officers arrived on scene, they located a 22-year-old man laying on the floor in the main lobby.

Officers say the victim appeared to have a gunshot wound to his lower back and to his lower leg. At last check, the victim was listed in serious condition.
