OMAHA, NE (WIS) - Rosenblatt Stadium, the former home of the College World Series, will be demolished very soon. On Thursday, baseball fans got their chance to take home a piece of the history.

The now-retired ballpark was the site of an auction Thursday morning to sell off everything from home plate to the outfield fence. "We are selling all of the memorabilia that fans may have interacted with at one time or another at the stadium," said auction organizer Joe Petsick.
Hundreds of people showed up to try to take home a piece of the history, while getting a look at the old park which will soon be destroyed. "If you go back to the registered bidders, it looks like a roster of the teams of the College World Series. People from Texas, Virginia and South Carolina.
The money raised will help build a park that will pay tribute to Rosenblatt Stadium. Home plate and the foul poles will remain for fans to come visit.
