CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The case of a man accused of killing a Charleston woman, dumping her body into a West Ashley swamp and burning her car back in August will go to trial this week.
Jury selection began Monday in the murder trial of 23-year-old Jesse James Murphy. Murphy is accused of shooting and killing 49-year-old Kathryn Keener while she was apparently driving her car.
Investigators say Murphy and Keener had a relationship that involved drugs.
Jury selection is expected to conclude sometime Monday and the trial will either begin Monday afternoon or Tuesday.
