NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charges against a former North Charleston police officer accused of smashing the window of a cell phone store were deferred on three conditions Tuesday.
A judge deferred the case as long as 38-year-old James Wagner pays full restitution, isn't arrested for three months and does not go into any T-Mobile stores.
Charleston police say Wagner threw a chair through a T-Mobile in West Ashley and told officers he had been drinking at a nearby pub before the incident.
Wagner was not in the courtroom Tuesday. He was fired from the North Charleston Police Department a few days after the incident.
Wagner was charged with damage to real property and public disorderly conduct.
