Pedestrian hit by car in North Charleston, rushed to hospital

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A pedestrian was rushed to the hospital in serious condition Tuesday after being hit by a car in North Charleston.

According to North Charleston police, a man was hit by a Nissan Maxima around 4 a.m. at the intersection of Ashley Phosphate Road and Stall Road.

Officers found the pedestrian in the road and he was unresponsive. EMS transported the victim to MUSC in serious condition.

The driver of the Nissan Maxima told police she was traveling west on Ashley Phosphate Road when the pedestrian stepped in front of her vehicle and was struck. The driver had a green light when the accident happened.

No charges will be filed against the driver and the accident remains under investigation.
