Fisherman's arm severed off Georgetown coast

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Coast Guard rescued an injured fisherman off the coast of Georgetown on Thursday morning. The Coast Guard said the man's arm was severed during a fishing accident.

Crews responded to 45-year-old Alan Carl's boat around the mouth of the North Santee River just after 8 a.m.

Carl was taken to MUSC by helicopter and was listed in fair condition Friday.
