F-16's to conduct patriotic beach flyover on Fourth of July

SULLIVAN'S ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - A Fourth of July flyover salute will pay tribute to our troops and you can be a part of it.

A group called "Salute from the Shore" will do a flyover along the South Carolina coast on the Fourth of July.

Last year, a C-17 from Joint-Base Charleston handled the flyover.

The salute starts at 1 p.m. and the goal is to get 1 million people along the beaches of South Carolina wearing or waving red, white and blue to honor our troops.

The entire flyover will be videotaped and shared with troops around the world.

The flyover will start at the North Carolina border at 1 p.m. Monday and head south.

Four F-16 fighter jets from Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter will perform the flyover.
